Urmila Thapa, who visited Santaneshwor on the third Monday of the month of Shrawan, also believes that whatever one asks for will be fulfilled when she visits the temple.
“It’s faith in God, it’s faith. Many people have said that after visiting here, they have given birth to children. I also have a lot of confidence,” Thapa said.
This temple is located at an altitude of 1507 meters above sea level.
There is a huge crowd of devotees. Devotees throng the temple every Monday in the month of July. Every Monday in the month of Saun, the courtyard of the temple is seen full.
The temple is believed to be in the form of a stone of Santeshwor Mahadev in the sanctum sanctorum and has its own religious and mythological beliefs.
It is believed that in ancient times, all the twelve zodiac signs came to this place and worshiped Shiva, so the name of this place is Jharuwarasi.
According to mythological legends, in the Dwapar Yuga, Lord Krishna came here to get children and worshiped Shiva, after which each wife got ten sons and one daughter. According to Gangaram Gautam, the priest of the temple, Santeshwor is called Santeshwor because he is the God of children.
“When Sati Devi Sati went to Sati, when Mahadev came here while taking her, the upper lip of Sati Devi fell and Santeshwor Mahadev was born. Many people say that children are not only believed to be born for childless couples, but also in practice. Especially on Mondays of July, it is very crowded,” Gautam said.
Gautam said that there is a huge crowd in the temple during Haritalika Teej, Janai Purnima and New Year.
“Not only from Mechi to Mahakali, but people from all over the country and abroad come here with a vow to have children,” he said. Every day, he worships in the temple, wishing to have three or four children. Those who have not had children for 12 years share their experience of having a child after visiting here. According to Pawan Rawalan of Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple Kailash Parbat Conservation and Conservation Service Association, many people have faith and faith in the temple.”We have brought a big change in the physical infrastructure after the religious beliefs towards the temple. We have been developing a master plan in 2068 BS,” he said.
The number of devotees is increasing day by day after the physical infrastructure of the temple was improved under the leadership of the municipality, locals, charity and management committee.
According to Bhaskar Thapa, ward chairman of Godavari Municipality Ward No. 13, a lot of works have been carried out in the joint initiative of the municipality and Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple, Kailash Parbat Conservation and Promotion Service Association.
‘Infrastructure work is being done at the rate of 50-50 percent. Since the chairman of the temple committee himself is an engineer, it has helped a lot in the design of the infrastructure. We have been working through wards and municipalities by allocating budget under various headings every year. Our goal is to make it known all over the world,” Thapa said.
To reach Santaneshwor Temple, one can reach from Satdobato via Godavari Road, Bandegaon road.
Apart from this, one can also visit Bajrabarahi from Thai or via Chapagaun Dobato. Similarly, one can also visit Santaneshwor via Sumeru Hospital and Nagdaha.
Various religious programs have been organized in the temple for the month of Saun.
The patron of the temple, Dr. Chintamani Yogi, had given a special discourse on the third Monday of the month of Shrawan.
