KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has initiated the process of merging LP gas industries. At the initiative of Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Deepak Kumar Sah, the corporation has initiated the process of merging LP gas industries operating under different names and brands.
With the aim of making the sales and distribution system of gas systematic and consumer-friendly, the corporation has emphasized on the implementation of the policy of merger of industries. Point No. 32 of the approved policy and program for the current fiscal year 2083/84 also states that the policy of merging LP gas industries operating under different names and brands will be continued.
According to this provision, the corporation has written a letter to all the gas industries on November 28 requesting them to encourage the merger policy. In addition, the corporation has also requested the industries to prepare the necessary action plan as per the policy and proceed with the process.
The corporation hopes that the sales and distribution system will be more systematic, convenient and consumer-friendly with the merger of gas industries.
