Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced that all schools in the metropolis will resume teaching and learning activities from April 29 under the new academic year 2083. Issuing a notice on April 26, the Education Department of the Metropolitan City said that this decision has been taken in view of the decision of the Government of Nepal and the request of the Kathmandu Valley Mayors Forum.
According to the notice, the decision was taken as it was necessary to remove the confusion that has emerged among the stakeholders following the beginning of the new academic session, the impact on teachers, staff and students, the preparation of the school management committee and the analysis of the overall educational situation.
As per the decision of the Education and Health Committee of the KMC on April 24, all schools have been directed to resume all academic activities including teaching and learning activities from April 28.
The Department of Education has urged all schools, school inspectors, resource teachers and concerned stakeholders within the metropolis to implement the notice. It has also directed the Information Technology Department to upload the information on the website of the metropolis.
The notice issued by Departmental Chief Namaraj Dhakal urged the bodies concerned to make the necessary coordination, facilitation and information dissemination effective in the operation of the school.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City has urged parents, students and teachers to actively participate in the school operation from the scheduled date.
