Kathmandu. Protests are being held against the government in Thapathali, Kathmandu, against the decision to vacate the squatters’ settlements. On Friday, they protested against the government, demanding justice for them.
During the demonstration, they also displayed placards saying “Ensure the right to housing for squatters”, “Stop the bulldozer terror”, “We don’t need such a government”, “Give justice to them”. The protesters had assured RSP President Rabi Lamichhane before the election that if the bulldozer was used in the squatters’ settlements, they would go to the squatters’ settlements. The protesters have also urged President Lamichhane to come to their settlement, reminding them of the same assurance.
Anger has been expressed against Prime Minister Balendra Shah. Genji activists have also participated in this demonstration against the government.
