Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) central member and leader of the Jenji movement, Rabi Kiran Hamal, has formally announced his resignation from the post of central member of the party. In a press statement issued on the auspicious occasion of Democracy Day today, Hamal said that he has been continuously striving for good governance, cultured political culture and stability for the last one decade without personal interests.
He recalled that he was ready to be shot for his active participation in the Jenji movement, was arrested on September 23 and was devalued on the basis of his political views. He also mentioned that the people were urged to move forward in a different way than their political views in the election.
“I embarked on this journey by embracing the sovereign will and aspirations of the people by deeply understanding the sentiments, energy, dreams and intense desire for change of the entire nation and the youth of my generation,” the statement reads. Hamal has made it clear that he has taken this responsible and conscious step respecting the clear signals, directions and aspirations of the people during the March 4 elections and the Genji movement. He said that this decision is not the result of any disappointment or dissatisfaction but accepting the sentiments of the people and his generation.
In the coming days, he has expressed his commitment to continue to serve the nation and the people with more determination, enthusiasm and high energy. He said that he will continue to fight, contribute and take the initiative to implement the cleanness, courage, impartiality and transformative spirit of the Genji movement in politics and governance in a fully practical manner.
He said that he would always be at the forefront of ensuring a quality of life through good governance, corruption-free governance and rapid economic progress for the protection of the country’s sovereignty, integrity and national interests. Rabi Kiran Hamal has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden and the entire party for their immense trust, affection and support towards him.
Rabi Kiran Hamal is a youth leader who emerged from the Genji movement. He was a candidate from Surkhet constituency-1 on behalf of RPP in the recently concluded House of Representatives.
