Kathmandu. The government has started removing the squatters on the banks of the Manohara River in Bhaktapur. The dozer has been used to remove the settlements since this morning.
The demolition was halted on Saturday evening due to obstruction by the locals. The demolition of houses and tents has started today with additional security precautions.
The government on Saturday evicted the human settlements built on the banks of the rivers in Thapathali, Gairigaun and Shantinagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and on risky public and government land.
