Revenue collected from traffic action in 24 hours

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Traffic Police have taken action against 2,212 drivers in course of security checks conducted in different parts of Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours. A total of Rs 27,57,000 has been collected from the action.

A total 2,212 drivers were taken for driving under the influence of alcohol, 179 for ride-sharing, 131 for red light, 139 for speeding, 92 for lane cross, 107 for road and footpath, 124 for not using horn, 150 for one-way traffic and 207 for others, Spokesperson of the Kathmandu Traffic Police Naresh Raj Subedi said.

“In the last 24 hours, action has been taken against 2,212 drivers for breaching traffic rules in the Kathmandu Valley,” he said. A total of Rs 27,57,000 has been deposited in revenue from this action. ‘

The traffic police have urged the passengers to immediately inform the nearest police office, traffic control room hotline no 103 and police hotline no 100 if suspecting that the driver has been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
