Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to disqualify the chief executive officers (CEOs) and directors of banks and financial institutions (BFIs) who have been suspended by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). After the Supreme Court sent a letter to the Rastra Bank with directive orders to implement the verdict of the Supreme Court in November 2081, the Rastra Bank has also informed various banks about the same.

In a case filed by advocate and Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Madhu Kumar Chaulagain, the Supreme Court had said that CEOs and directors who have faced action from the regulatory body are “disqualified” from holding offices.
Lawyers say the Supreme Court has interpreted even a “wake-up” or “wake-up” move as an action. This may affect the officials who have taken any kind of disciplinary action from the Rastra Bank ।
