. Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary met with the families of the victims of the human-elephant conflict. The human-elephant conflict has been managed for a long time as per the demand of the family.
Minister Chaudhary had directed the stakeholders for long-term management. Chitwan: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has installed radio collar on the Dhrube elephant which has been creating problems for the reduction of human-elephant conflict and effective wildlife management.
After the death of 25-year-old Ashika Bote and her four-year-old son Bharat Bote of Belhata of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-23 on July 5, the search for the elephant has been intensified in coordination with the National Park Park, National Trust for Nature Conservation, Nepal Army, local levels and other stakeholders to prevent further human casualties.
The expert team connected radio collar to the Dhruve elephant after it was found near Sukhibhar Post at around 7:15 pm on August 14 during continuous search and monitoring. It will be regularly monitored and informed before the settlement arrives.
It is believed that regular monitoring would be easier as information about the location and movement of elephants would be available at short intervals through radio callers.
This technology will provide immediate GPS location of elephants, predict vulnerable areas and help reduce human-elephant conflict.
Chitwan: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has said it will continue its management works by regularly monitoring the polar elephant through radio caller.
