. Table tennis players Sanyog Kapali and Yoongi Poudel have left for Seoul on Saturday to participate in the 20th Asian Games taking place in Aichi÷Nagoya, Japan. Both players are national champions.
Jackie Maharjan, treasurer of All Nepal Table Tennis Association, informed that they will participate in a month-long special training to be held from July 18 to August 18 at Doksan High School in Seoul. According to Maharjan, the players are participating in the training at the invitation of Yang Yangja, the gold medalist of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. During the training period, the players will get an opportunity to practice with the best players of South Korea, meet with the players and coaches of the South Korean national table tennis team, observe their training sessions and share experiences. National Sports Council (NSC) Executive Committee member Sikka Suwal Shrestha and Treasurer Maharjan bade farewell to them wishing them a successful training session and excellent performance in the upcoming Asian Games.
Table tennis and 6 other players have been selected for the Asian Games. Treasurer Maharjan said that efforts are being made to take the remaining players for training.
