Various highways and roads across the country have been affected due to rains and landslides

.Major highways and roads in various districts of the country have been affected due to flood, landslide and muddy roads triggered by incessant rainfall.

The Nepal Police has completely stopped the vehicular movement on some sections of the highway while in some places it has been banned only during the night.

The Kavrepalanchowk-Sindhuli connection will be operated via Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi. All vehicular movement has been prohibited on the highway during night in view of the possible risk of floods.

According to the police, all vehicles will be banned from 6 pm to 4 am.

Vehicular movement will be allowed from 4 am to 6 pm. This provision will remain in force until further notice.

Meanwhile, all types of vehicular movement along the Kanti Highway in Makwanpur have been banned from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am due to incessant rain.

The decision will remain in force until further notice, police said.

The Mechi Highway at Rajduwali of Ilam Municipality-9 has been completely obstructed for vehicular movement due to inrain.

However, an alternative road could be used in the area, police said.

The road section has been completely

disrupted after a boulder fell from above the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section at Panini rural municipality-2 of Arghakhanchi. Efforts are underway to open the road, police said.

Sindhupalchowk: The Araniko Highway has been completely obstructed after a landslide occurred at Jirokilo area of Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk district.

Similarly, landslides at Bhotekoshi rural municipality-2, Kodari have also obstructed the highway, police said.

The Kaligandaki Corridor road section at Belbagar of Jaimini municipality-8 in Baglung district has been completely disrupted due to landslides. Police have urged one and all to take information about the road situation from the concerned bodies before travelling and adopt necessary precautions, as the risk of landslide, flood and road disruption is high during the rainy season.
