. Nepali Congress (NC) youth leader Tirtha Gautam has accused party President Gagan Thapa of running the party arbitrarily.
Speaking to Nepal News Bank after an interaction organized on the preparations for the national gathering organized by other groups of the Nepali Congress, Gautam said that they have been waiting for a long time within the party but the leadership has not paid any heed.
He said, “Party President Gagan Thapa is moving ahead arbitrarily. We waited for a long time. He said that the party was a generational transfer, but even youths like us were sidelined during the generational transition. The friends of the party were distracted, and the condition to stay in the party was weakened. So we’re moving forward in a way. Gautam, who is also a former central member of Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) and Tarun Dal, accused Thapa-led group of unilaterally moving ahead for the upcoming 15th general convention.
Gautam claimed that although they had waited patiently for the decision of the party leadership for the interest of the party, no concrete conclusion has been reached for four months.
He said that the friends of the party are in a state of disarray.
Thapa said that they are trying for party unity in a different way as they have taken forward the factions by pretending to talk. Gautam is an active Congress leader from Udayapur.
