Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said the NC has compulsorily ensured the participation of youths below 30 years of age among the representatives to be elected from every ward.
Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of the 44th BP Memorial Day on Sunday, Thapa said that arrangements have been made to have at least three general convention representatives below 35 from all the constituencies.
“In the legal structure of the party, we have selected representatives from each ward so that there should be such a number of delegates below 30 years of age,” he said, “Similarly, there should be three convention delegates from one constituency below 35 years of age, which we now say 25 earlier.” We’ve now added 31 and there’s 3 friends under the age of 35. According to him, the party has increased the number of delegates from 25 to 31. Priority has been given to youth representation. He said that arrangements have been made to ensure the participation of the new generation of leaders in the central committee as well.
He said, “We need to bring new friends into the Nepali Congress and respect our old friends together.”
We are 4 generations of people who are active in this party at the same time. Stating that four generations of leaders and cadres are active in the NC at the same time, he stressed the need of becoming a common political force that unites all generations.
He said that the Nepali Congress has been connecting all castes, languages and communities across the country.
He said that now it should establish itself as a party that unites all generations.
He said, “Since Nepali Congress itself is also a national force, just as we say which is the biggest force to unite all the people of all castes and ethnicities, languages and languages of Nepal, then we should also become the force that unites people of all generations.”
