Various highways and road sections across the country have been obstructed due to incessant rains
Kathmandu.Vehicular movement has been affected due to landslides, mud and mud on various highways and road sections of the country triggered by incessant rainfall. Nepal Police has said that various roads have been completely obstructed till 7:00 pm on Monday.
Vehicular movement along the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section along the Kavrepalanchowk-Sindhuli highway has been restricted during night due to possible floods, police said.
All vehicles will be banned from 6 pm to 4 am and will be allowed to operate from 4 am to 6 pm.
Similarly, all types of vehicles have been banned on the Kanti Highway of Makwanpur from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am due to rainfall. The Mechi Highway in Ilam has been completely obstructed due to muddy road at Rajduwali area of Ilam Municipality-9.
However, an alternative route could be used in the area, police said.
Vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchowk district has been completely obstructed due to landslides and landslides at Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4, Jirokilo and rural municipality-2, Kodari areas. Similarly, the vehicular movement has been obstructed due to landslides at Belbagar area of Jaimini municipality-8 along the Kaligandaki corridor in Baglung district. The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road section in Rasuwa district has been completely closed due to landslides at Gumchet area of Uttargaya rural municipality-1. The road section has been obstructed after a landslide occurred at Harning area of Madi rural municipality-6 along the Rukum-Ghorahi martyrs road section, according to police. Meanwhile, vehicular movement has been completely halted due to landslides at Mamkha area of Diktel-Bhojpur road section of Mid-Hill Highway in Khotang district. Similarly, the road section along the Mechi Highway in Taplejung district has been completely obstructed due to a landslide near Khokse rivulet of Pathibhara Yangbarak rural municipality-1. Police have urged the general public to take necessary precautions, taking stock of the condition of the road from the concerned bodies before traveling, as the risk of landslides and floods is high during the rainy season.
