. Proton’s new electric car has been launched in the Nepalese market. It is a Malaysian car brand.
Jagdamba Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor for Nepal, has launched the cars in two variants, E Mass Five Prime and Premium.
The price of
the car has been fixed at Rs 29.99 lakh and Rs 34.99 lakh respectively.
Prior to this, Proton’s E-Mass Seven was made available in the Nepali market. Now the e-mass comes with five-rear wheel drive options.
The E-Mass 5 has a battery pack of 30.12 kWh for the Prime variant and 40.16 kWh for the Premium variant.
The company claims that it will give a range of 225 km and 325 km respectively on a single full charge. The e-Mass 5 is powered by a 58kWh electric motor on the Prime variant and an 85kWh electric motor in the Premium variant.
The interior features a 14.6-inch screen, an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, a multifunctional steering wheel, a 50W wireless charger, ambient lights and keyless entry.
Safety features include 6 airbags, audio and a 360-degree camera.
Proton E-Mass 5 has been awarded the ‘Electric Compact Vehicle of the Year, 2026’ at the prestigious Allianz DSF Vehicle of the Year Awards in Malaysia. g.
