. An objective council has been formed under the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) with representation from various commodity organizations. With the formation of the council, the nomination papers were handed over to the newly appointed members.
Speaking at a function organized at the FNCCI Secretariat on Wednesday, FNCCI Acting President Sur Krishna Baidya congratulated the newly-appointed members and wished them a successful tenure.
He said that the Council should play an active and result-oriented role in policy reforms related to industry and business, investment promotion, production and export expansion and resolving the problems of the private sector.
According to him, the Council’s contribution to the country’s economic development would be significant by establishing effective coordination between the private sector and the government.

Sundar Shrestha, District Vice-President of the Federation, said that the Commodity Council is an important part of the Federation and it has an important role to play in resolving the problems faced by the sector.
Likewise, Commodity Vice-President and Commodity Council President Naresh Lal Shrestha said that the FNCCI’s objective member associations were the backbone of the private sector and expressed the belief that the Council would move ahead the common agenda of industry and business in an integrated manner.
He urged the Council members to play an active role in protecting and promoting the interests of the private sector by effectively presenting their experiences, suggestions and policy views through the FNCCI.
He urged the members of the Objective Council to carry out research based on the data of the thematic committee and take initiative to resolve the problem.
Prabal Jung Pandey, Associate Vice President and President of the Employers’ Council, said that the role of the project would be important to make the economy dynamic through business activities in the present context of the country’s economy still not returning to rhythm and the investment environment has not been created.
Treasurer of FNCCI, Manish Lal Pradhan, said that the activities of the council and committees would make the FNCCI dynamic and stressed the need to work in a way to make the economy dynamic by prioritizing result-oriented working style.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Commodity Council held on Wednesday has nominated Bhakta Bahadur Hamal as the vice-president of the Council.
The federation has 142 substantive members.
