. Chairperson of the Federalism Empowerment and National Concern Committee, Jayanti Devi Rai, has said that the people’s rights were weakening in the present time.

Addressing a symposium on ‘Role of Leftist Parties in the Present Political Situation’ organized on the occasion of the 48th Pushpalal Memorial Day here today, she said the people were constantly looking for an alternative.

“This country is really in crisis,” she said. Today, people’s rights are being lost. So we have to think. Today, every person is looking for an alternative. Recalling Nepal’ s political history, Rai said that in 2007 BS, the people had chosen the Nepali Congress as the force to play a role in favour of their rights. He further said that the people chose the communist forces in 19÷90 as they had fought for the abolition of the Panchayat system and securing the people’s rights.

Stating that the people had faith in the communist power even after the people’s movement of 2006÷63, she said that the people had chosen the revolutionary Nepal Communist Party led by comrade Prachanda.”Even in 2007, they looked for an alternative,” she said.

Those who played a role at that time chose the Nepali Congress for the rights of the people. After 46, 47 years, he chose communists. At that time, the communists had fought for the overthrow of the Panchayat and for the protection of people’s rights. After the people’s movement of 1962-63, they again chose communists. Where Comrade Prachanda chose the Communist Party of Nepal Revolutionary. Claiming that the people are still looking for an alternative, Rai said that dissatisfaction with both the old and new political forces is growing.

She said, “Today, in the name of the old party and the agenda of the new party, a new party is chosen, but that too will not last.” The old party ran for 35 years, but the new party has become very sad in 100 days. ’
