Kathmandu. The price of bottled and jar water has gone up. Issuing a press release on Saturday, the Federation of Nepal Water Industries (FNPI) decided to hike the price of bottled and jar water in line with the increase in raw materials and operating cost.
According to the federation, the price of raw materials used in the water industry has increased by 40 percent due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East.

According to the Federation, the LC has not been issued for the import of raw materials used in water for the past three months and the stock of raw materials in the country is negligible.
“The Federation of Nepal Water Industries (FNPI) requests all member industrialists to adjust the price of water produced in proportion to the increase in raw materials and operating cost,” the statement reads.
The Federation has urged the government to charge Rs 20 per bottle inside Kathmandu Valley and Rs 25 outside Kathmandu Valley.
Similarly, it has been asked to charge Rs 60 per jar and Rs 80 outside the Kathmandu Valley.
