Kathmandu. Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokhrel at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar today. During the meeting held at the Ministry on Monday, they discussed the Chinese government’s support and cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology and sports in Nepal.
Discussions were held on the issues of school infrastructure, digital system in teaching and learning as well as institutional development and contemporary issues. The two leaders also discussed Nepal-China historical bilateral relations, cooperation and mutual cooperation.
Minister Pokharel, who is also the spokesperson of the Government of Nepal, said that he wished to see increased partnership and collaboration with the Chinese government as well as development of infrastructure in schools, digital system in teaching and learning systems.
Minister Pokharel also drew the attention of the Chinese government to the completion of the projects in education sector at the earliest and to promote the scholarships to be provided by the Chinese government as per the interest of Nepali youths.
Chinese Ambassador Maoming said the Chinese government was willing to partner and collaborate on the issues put forth by the Government of Nepal. During the meeting, an understanding was reached to further strengthen the mutual interest and multifaceted relations between the two countries.
