Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has said that running the government would be easier if the people’s trust was won. Lamichhane expressed the belief that although he could not reach every citizen’s house as a leader, the party’s policies and government’s programmes would reach out to the people.
Claiming that the government will carry out good works for the people, he said that creating an environment of trust among the citizens is a positive development. “As a leader, I will not be able to reach people’s homes. But as a policy, the policy of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and the policies of the present government will reach everyone’s home. The government does something. The government will do good for the people. The government has said it will make arrangements. We may believe that there may be an environment that has been created. It is a great thing to gain the trust of the citizens. ’
According to him, although the formation and fall of government is a normal process, it is important to have a government that has gained people’s trust. Referring to the fact that the government with two-thirds majority could not be sustained, he opined that the governance would be more effective if the trust base is strong. Lamichhane acknowledged that there would be some difficulties in the process of change and said that the coming generation would get long-term benefits from it. He stressed on the need to work from the point of view of generational change and not just from one election to the next.
He said, “The government will always be formed. Two-thirds of the governments were formed before this. But it will be easier if there is a government with the trust of the people. It’s a little sad to change. But the results that the next generation will get. We don’t just have to look at one election from one election to another, we have to pass from one generation to another. Our generation will have to face fewer problems while working so that the next generation does not have to face the same pain and problems as we do. ’
