Kathmandu. The application for the post of Chairman of Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has been opened. Issuing a notice, the Ministry of Finance has called on eligible Nepali citizens to submit their personal details (bio-data) within seven days. According to the notice, the interested candidates can apply to the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance at Singha Durbar within 7 days from the date of publication of advertisement.

Candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and at least seven years of experience in stock market management, capital market development, economics, financial, commerce, management or law. It also states that a person of high moral character, Nepali citizenship and not disqualified as per the relevant law should be required.

The candidate should not be more than 30 years of age and not more than 65 years of age. The criteria include not being convicted of criminal offences like corruption, money laundering, not being blacklisted and not having a permanent residence permit of any foreign country.

In the application, candidates have to submit their resume, citizenship certificate, educational qualification and professional experience documents. In addition, one has to submit a self-declaration form as per the format available in the Ministry’s website.

The committee will prepare a short list from the applications received by the Ministry of Finance and may seek additional details if required, the Finance Ministry said. It has also warned of action as per the law if the false details are submitted. The government has said that it has made this notice public to advance the process of selecting the leadership of the stock market.
