Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Council (NMC) has scrapped the license of 19 more doctors. The Council has scrapped the license of 19 doctors who renounced their Nepali citizenship, said Council Registrar Dr Satish Kumar Dev.
Earlier, the Council had revoked the license of 17 people who had renounced their Nepali citizenship and obtained foreign passports.
According to him, the license of the doctors who had renounced their Nepali citizenship and obtained foreign passport has been revoked. He said that the names of these doctors have also been removed from the register.
“The Council has decided to scrap the registration of the 19 doctors who had renounced their Nepali citizenship and obtained foreign passport as per the Nepal
Medical Council Act 2020, Regulations 2024 and Nepal Citizenship Act 2063,” he said.
The registration of the doctors has been scrapped as they have renounced their Nepali citizenship and have taken British, Canadian, American, New Zealand, German, Australian and Indian citizenship. Dr Sumindra Pun, Dr Shailesh Kumar Jayaswal, Dr Bhupesh Khadka, Dr Arati Ranabhat, Dr Ramesh Raj Pahari, Dr Sanjok Ghale, Dr Rishiraj Baral, Dr Prabhu Pandey, Dr Tripti Maharjan and Dr Srijana Shrestha are among those present on the occasion.
Similarly, the license of Dr Sunita Bista, Dr Deepa Malla, Dr Saurab GC, Dr Jenisha Shrestha, Dr Prabhas Regmi, Dr Dipika Gyawali, Dr Hemu Chaurasiya, Dr Samikshya Sharma and Dr Manorama Pandey are among those whose licences have been scrapped.
