Kathmandu. The post of chairman of the board of directors of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) will also be eligible for a master’s degree in engineering. The government has amended the Insurance Act 2079 through the ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2083’.
Prior to this, a bachelor’s degree on insurance, finance, commerce, management, public administration, statistics, mathematics, economics or law and at least five years of senior managerial experience in the related field was essential. After the amendment, engineering has also been added to the list.
Likewise, one must have high moral character and not be disqualified as per the law to become the chairman or member. The ordinance was certified last Sunday.
