Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s military power has been destroyed and that America will win this war at any cost. Speaking to reporters before leaving for China on Tuesday, Trump claimed that the sanctions on Iran were “completely effective”. “The United States is prepared to achieve its objectives, either peacefully or otherwise,” he said.
Trump said that Iran’s navy, air force and combat capabilities have been severely damaged and that Iran must make the right decision or the US will complete its mission. He also said there was no need for Chinese President Xi Jinping to mediate to resolve tensions with Iran.
Meanwhile, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with NATO and accused it of not providing enough support in the time needed. He said that NATO was not with him when needed. However, NATO Secretary-General Mark Ruthe said he was optimistic about the future of the alliance. He said NATO’s long-term stability remains strong, as European member states and Canada continue to increase defense spending.
The strategically important Hormuz region is now a global security concern amid rising tensions in the Middle East. Diplomatic and military activity between the United States, Iran and NATO members has intensified over the security of oil supplies and sea trade. ANI
