Kathmandu. Raghuganga Rural Municipality of Myagdi has issued a public notice directing the crusher industries operating illegally without completing the registration process. Chief Administrative Officer of the rural municipality, Kulraj Poudel, said that the rural municipality has been directed to remove the crusher industries within a month.
The rural municipality has said it would take legal action if crusher industries other than those taking permission for hydropower and development projects are found involved in excavation of river-based materials. Chief Administrative Officer Poudel said action would be taken if the crusher industry and equipment were not removed within a month.
Five crusher industries are currently in operation in Raghuganga rural municipality, said Bhawa Bahadur Bhandari, chairperson of Raghuganga Rural Municipality. He said, “Chamere of Rahughat Hydropower Project and Crusher Industry of dam construction site, Mona Hydropower and Chitwan Energy have completed the process of construction of the project.” ‘
Bhandari claimed that the rural municipality has taken initiative to stop illegal crusher companies as they have been causing loss to revenue by exporting river-based products.
