Kathmandu. The hearing on the writ petition filed by CPN (UML) vice-chair and former finance minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel at the Supreme Court is scheduled for June 30.
Poudel’s wife Domaya Poudel had filed a writ petition at the apex court on June 24 stating that Poudel was detained illegally.
A single bench of Justice Shreekanta Poudel issued the order to seek a written response from the Office of the Attorney General on June 29 and conduct the hearing on June 30.
Poudel was arrested from Surkhet on June 22 on the charge of money laundering and was produced before the Special Court Kathmandu on June 22.
The Special Court has allowed him to be remanded in custody for seven days for further investigation. The Department of Money Laundering Investigation is investigating against Poudel.
