. The Pashupatinath Religious Festival 2083 BS has begun from Monday. According to the organizers, the festival will be held till August 12 and will feature bhajans, kirtans, dances and spiritual discourses.
Resolver Rajananda said that the purpose of the Mandavya Festival is to awaken the devotees towards the Vedic Sanatan Dharma.
He said the festival was organized to utilize the time when special sacrifices and rituals could not be performed as a religious awakening due to the setting of Jupiter.
Since the month of Shravan is the special month of Lord Shiva, there is a special presence of devotees at Pashupatinath during this period. The festival has been organized with the aim of this occasion. More than 30 lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple. More foreigners will also come. It is estimated that around 50 lakh devotees visit the temple. According to him , millions of devotees are expected to visit Pashupatinath throughout the month of July. He further said that the number of Indian and foreign devotees will increase along with Nepali devotees.
He also informed that the goal is to construct Kailash Dham in Mandavya Nepal.
According to him, efforts are underway to construct Kailash Dham as a religious and tourist center in Nepal as it would take a lot of time and expense to reach Kailash located in Tibet.
He said, “We have set a target for the construction of Kailash Dham.
Kailash Dham is not in Nepal. It’s in Tibet. The Chinese, in particular, are not Hindus. We are Hindus. There is a way to send a quarter billion Hindus to China, but China has become difficult. And it costs two to two and a half lakh rupees to reach Kailash,” he said.
According to him, if government land is available in Banepa Municipality, there is a plan to construct Divya Kailash Dham at a cost of around Rs 15 to 20 crore with the help of devotees.
“Our aim is to create an environment where devotees visiting Pashupatinath can also visit Kailash Dham which is some 25 kilometers away,” he said.
Although some people have criticized the festival for its fundraising, he said that the purpose of Yagya and religious programs is not just to raise money.
He added that the expenses required to complete the Yagya would be collected with the help of the devotees and the remaining amount would be used for the construction of Kailash Dham.
He said that such campaigns were necessary for religious tourism and preservation of Sanatan culture.
Stating that the Shiva statue at Sanga and Pumdikot in Pokhara are examples of religious tourism, he expressed the belief that the construction of Kailash Dham would also contribute to the development of religious and tourism tourism.
Mandabya said that he has also received commitments of support from the government representatives and people’s representatives for the festival. According to him, Shiva Naam Sankirtan, bhajans, kirtans, dances and spiritual discourses will be conducted till August 12.
After that, after the rise of Jupiter, the Linga Purana will be organized from August 27 to 31.
According to the organizers, a special program will be organized on the occasion of Baraha Jayanti on August 15.
Interested devotees have been invited to participate in the lighting of the lamp.
