Congress turned away from BP Koirala’s ideals and BP-ism: Guru Baral
Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Guru Baral has said that the party was now stuck in the whirlpool of serious dispute, confusion and instability. Talking to Nepal News Bank in an exclusive interview with Nepal News Bank, leader Deuba warned that internal conflict and division in the party could pose a serious threat not only to the democratic system but also to the nation’s nationality and sovereignty.
Expressing concern over the present situation of the party, Baral said efforts have been made to pull the NC out of this crisis for the last 8-10 months.
“When the Nepali Congress split, there was a problem in the system in the past, but now the situation is even worse,” he said, adding, “If the NC splits and weakens, there are indications that dark clouds will hover over the nationality.” So, we are waiting for the right step from the leadership level to unify the party. “
Leader Baral has made serious allegations against the current leadership of the party, especially President Gagan Thapa and his group. He argued that the party has been trapped in a circle and the country has become stagnant and goalless due to lack of self-awareness.
He said, “The Nepali Congress, which is considered the backbone of the country, has become weak when we are divided.
Neither the system nor nationality can be strengthened when the spine is weak,” he said. Speaking at a program organized in Janakpur, President Thapa impulsively announced to scrap all the active membership, terming it as dictatorial style.
According to the NC statute, a certain number of active members are required to reach the leadership, he said, “The active members cannot be dismissed by anyone.
If everything is considered to have been dismissed, then the continuity of the leadership for 15 years will be questioned and they themselves are dismissed. “Now, in the name of updates, terror has been created across the country,” he said.
Baral also expressed his displeasure over the Nepali Congress now turning away from the ideals of BP Koirala and BP-ism.
He claimed that the voice of the Nepali Congress has weakened on the issues of anti-people activities of the government, tax on education and health, and nationality. “It is difficult to distinguish whether the friends leading in Sanepa are partners of the government or mere spectators,” he said. “
Leader Baral has urged not to take the opening of the liaison office in Chundevi for the 15th general convention as a preparation to open a new party. He made it clear that it was just a preparation between like-minded friends.
He, however, admitted that the unity of the party was in jeopardy due to the lack of meaningful dialogue.
He believes that the problem will be resolved only when the leadership makes a commitment to return to BP-ism by issuing an honest three-line statement and creating a credible environment for the convention.
Speaking about the future of the party leadership, Baral said that the NC has no dearth of experienced and impeccable leaders.
He said that Dr. Dr. Shashank Koirala, MD He said that efforts are being made to defame leaders like Shekhar Koirala, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Prakash Man Singh, Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Sitaula in the name of digital popularity. “For the past few years, attempts have been made to defame and defame the old leaders, which is not true,” he said. Digital popularity alone does not run a country. “
Leader Baral has appealed to all the leaders and cadres of the NC to be responsible and introspect. He said there was no alternative to standing together for the protection of the country’s democracy and nationality rather than weakening the party through extreme ambition and provocation.
He said that the Nepali Congress could play its historic role only if the leadership shows readiness for meaningful dialogue and re-establishes the ideals of BP. Baral has said that not only the party but the country’s system and nationality are in danger due to the stubbornness of the party leadership
Leader Baral said that not only the party but the country’s system and nationality are in serious crisis due to the short-sightedness and arrogance of the party leadership.
He claimed that the internal strife in the party and the irresponsibility of the leadership have given an opportunity to foreign forces to manipulate the country.
He made it clear that although the special general convention and subsequent legal processes were ill-intentioned, they accepted Gagan Thapa as the party president respecting the rule of law.
He, however, argues that the main responsibility of bringing the party together by incorporating all sides lies with the leadership. “In the past, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Sushil Koirala used to take every decision unanimously, but the arrogance and arrogance of the present leadership has put both the party and the country in difficulty,” he said.
Baral said that they were ready to resign for the sake of party unity.
“We are ready to step down from the post if the party unity, but the leadership is trying to evade the party in the pretext of Mechi-Mahakali and Aunshi-Purnima in the name of dialogue,” he said. He warned that the party could not move ahead by ignoring the 46 per cent dissatisfied mandate of the Nepali Congress and the investment of four generations.
Raising the issue of ideological deviation, Baral said that BP’s decision to abandon democratic socialism and take the path of social democracy has further weakened the party.
Commenting that the role of the Nepali Congress in the parliament has been seen as helpless and helpless, he accused the leadership of being seen as a companion of the ruling partner.
Baral said that Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is currently abroad due to medical treatment, will return home within a week.
He expressed the apprehension that both the Congress and the country could be pushed towards a big disaster if the leadership did not introspect on time.
