. Kathmandu: A young woman attempted self-immolation near Bouddha Gate in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 on Monday.
Salu Gurung, 27, of Temal Rural Municipality-3 in Kavre district attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on her at 2.50 am. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of District Police Range, Kathmandu, Gurung attempted self-immolation in the parking lot behind his eatery shop. According to SP Bhattarai, the injured wife was taken to the Shushma Koirala Memorial Hospital, Sakhu.
He has been referred to Burn Hospital in Kirtipur for further treatment.
According to the police, Salu tried to immolate herself after a dispute with her husband.
He has suffered 50 per cent burns on his face, chest and both hands.
