Sarlahi. As many as 50 people have gone missing in Sarlahi district in the last one month.
According to the monthly progress report made public by the District Police Office, Sarlahi, only 23 of the missing persons have been found while the remaining 27 are yet to be traced. According to the police, 17 women, three boys, 26 girls and four senior citizens are among the missing.
No missing men have been reported during this period.
According to the details made public by the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the number of girls missing is the highest. Similarly, in the month of June, the police have arrested a total of 23 people, including nine women, one boy, 12 girls and one senior citizen. According to the police, less than half of the 50 people who went missing — 23 — have been found.

The stakeholders have said that coordination between the bodies concerned should be made more effective considering the risk of misuse of the open border with India as it is a border district.
