. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Ramji Yadav has said that preparations were underway to transform the foreign employment sector into a fully digital system.

Speaking during a monitoring program at the office of the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal on Tuesday, he said that with the implementation of the new system, the compulsion to come to Kathmandu to apply for manpower companies, to participate in the interview or for other processes will be removed. He said, “We are amending the Act to improve the foreign employment sector.

Soon, we will start a new era by amending the Act by taking it to Parliament and Cabinet. Everything is digitized in it. I did not have to come to Kathmandu to apply for manpower. Issuing a stern warning to those involved in fraud in the name of foreign employment, Minister Yadav said that anyone hiding anywhere in coordination with Nepal Police, Nepal Investigation Agency and Department of Foreign Employment would be brought to book.

“The era of digitalization has begun,” he said. I also want to warn those who cheat people – wherever they hide, they will be punished. According to Minister Yadav, although the digital system has been brought into operation as per the existing legal provisions, preparations are underway to amend the Foreign Employment Act to make it more effective.

He said that the constitution amendment bill would be tabled in the parliament after it is endorsed by the Council of Ministers. He said most of the foreign employment services would be made available online through the new system.
