. KATHMANDU: The office of an organization that has been conducting skill testing and certification with only permission from the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has been sealed.
A joint monitoring team of the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment, the Ministry of Education and Sports, the CTEVT and the Department of Foreign Employment sealed the institute on Wednesday.
Action has been taken on the basis of complaints received that the workers going for foreign employment have been providing skill certification certificates against the prescribed conditions. During the inspection, the organization was found to have violated the existing laws and conditions.
It has been found that an organization that has only been licensed to provide skill training has used the right of skill testing and certification to the government agency (CTEVT) in an unauthorized manner.
It has been found that the organization has been providing training in subjects other than the prescribed genres after taking permission.
The monitoring team has sealed the office of the organization and seized the necessary documents and certificates for study. After studying the documents provided by the monitoring team, further legal action will be taken against the organization.
