Congress needs to resolve the problems of the landless people: General Secretary Poudel
Kathmandu.KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Pradip Poudel has said the party should move ahead in a new way by keeping the real problems and issues of the people at the centre of its agenda.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the ‘Root Campaign’ and announcement of a new campaign organized by the Nepali Congress at the City Hall on Thursday, he said that the party should revise its agenda and campaign as per the time. Stating that BP Koirala had presented an example through the Nepali Congress on how political parties could internalize the people’s issues, he said that there was a need for self-evaluation even now.”BP Koirala had shown through the agenda of the Nepali Congress how a political party can address people’s issues.
We have to admit that there is a need to seriously review whether we have been able to connect the problems of the people in the party in the same way today. Stating that the present situation is different from the past, he pointed out the need of taking forward the party’s resolution and campaign in a new way as the subject has changed.
‘The situation has changed, a new situation has been created. The themes have also changed. Therefore, we have to renew our resolve. There is a need to run the campaign in a new way,” he said.
On the occasion, General Secretary Poudel expressed the commitment that the Nepali Congress would put forward the problems of the landless people and the concerns of all Nepalis as its agenda.”On this day, we want to take a pledge that the Nepali Congress will present the problems of the landless people and the problems of all Nepalis as its agenda,” he said.
