Sarlahi. Janarsi Devi Paswan, a resident of Madhubani, Godaita Municipality-12 in Sarlahi district, has been granted citizenship at the age of 64.
Keshav Kumar, the ward chairman of Madhubani of Gaudaita Municipality-12, got the citizenship certificate from the Sarlahi District Administration Office on Tuesday. Janarsi Devi had been facing difficulties in various administrative tasks of daily life due to lack of citizenship.
In the absence of legal identity, there was a problem in accessing various services and facilities provided by the state.
Janarsi’s husband has already passed away and she is survived by two sons and a daughter. According to ward chair Keshav Kumar, efforts were made for about six months to collect necessary documents, coordinate with the concerned bodies and complete the legal process for the citizenship of Janarasi. After that effort, she finally got the Nepali citizenship certificate.
Ward Chairman Keshav Kumar claimed that the goal of not having citizenship in the ward was achieved during his tenure.
Ward Chair Kumar said that he has been directly facilitating the people of the ward who are facing difficulties in fulfilling the necessary process and the necessary process and has been completing the entire process of citizenship by taking them to the concerned bodies. Similarly, some people of Dhankaul, Ramnagar, Balara and other local levels in the western part of Sarlahi district are still without citizenship.
