Kathmandu. The government has decided to reduce the number of federal ministries to 18. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday approved the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulations, 2083 BS and decided to reduce the number of ministries.
The government has kept the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Similarly, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Land, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minority and Social Security, the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Innovation.
Similarly, there are 18 ministries including Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Ministry of Health and Food Security.
