Kathmandu. In the past 24 hours, 2,029 drivers have been taken action for breaching traffic rules. This has contributed Rs 4.17 lakh revenue to the state exchequer.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 59 were taken for drunken driving, 119 for ride-sharing, 132 for breaching signal lights and 208 for speeding.
Similarly, 57 for flouting lane discipline, 94 for blowing horns in prohibited areas, 95 for parking vehicles on the pavement, 126 for driving one-way traffic and 1,139 for not following other traffic rules were taken against others.
