Kathmandu. The Armed Police Force (APF) has impounded a truck carrying illegal goods worth Rs 4 million at the border area of Siraha. Acting on a special tip-off, a team from the Armed Police Force (APF) Border Security Office, Siraha, arrested the two persons along with the truck at around 8.45 pm on Saturday.

A 35-member special patrol team led by Superintendent of Armed Police Force (APF) Suman Jung Thapa intercepted the truck (Sa 1 Kha-535) being smuggled to India from Nepal.

Police confiscated various cosmetics, toothpaste, walnut and other items from the truck. The arrested have been identified as Rajesh Kumar Yadav, 50, and Ananda Yadav, 35, of Nawarajpur Rural Municipality-5. According to the APF, the recovered goods and the truck are estimated to be worth around Rs 40 lakh.

Police said that the process of sending the seized goods and vehicles to the Customs Office for necessary action has been forwarded
