Kathmandu. Global IME Bank’s employee Pitambar Khadka’s suicide case has been widely discussed. Bharat Thapa, an employee of the internal audit department of Kumari Bank, has been revealed to have consumed poison and committed suicide. Police have confirmed that Thapa committed suicide by consuming poison.

The incident took place in Bhaktapur. Thapa, a resident of Katunje of Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur, had been out of contact with his family for the past few days. The family was hoping that some work in the office would be out of the house. But as the days went by, the search was done. However, the news came sadly, Thapa’s body was found in the forest.
He had taken his car to Pilot Danda in Bhaktapur, where he came to know that he had consumed poison. A bottle of poison was found along with the vehicle, police said.
After Thapa’s body was found, the family members of the deceased approached the police, claiming that Thapa died due to torture at the bank. However, the police refused to register a complaint. Later, after a lot of controversy, the police filed a complaint. However, it is not clear where the investigation has progressed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chanchala Shrestha of Metropolitan Police Circle, Jagati, said that she is in the hospital and requested to get information about the incident from the case section. Officials of the case section said that they have not yet received a detailed report on the Thapa case from the Forensic Science Section and they are also waiting for the report.
In the meantime, the police agreed to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, the bank would provide a job to the wife of the deceased, and the family would perform the last rites of the body. The bank’s CEO Ram Chandra Khanal was saved from the case after the complaint was filed. But fearing arrest, he hurriedly arranged a job for the wife of the deceased. Initially, he offered to keep it as a contract. But after the family refused, he has now been appointed as a junior assistant. According to an employee of the bank’s HR department, initially there was a question that the employee bylaws would not be allowed to give such jobs. However, after CEO Khanal said that he would be fired in the name of transferring the case, he was given the job.

It has been some time since Thapa gave up his life. However, the investigation of this case has not moved forward.
On this issue, the bank has given an irresponsible answer that it did not know about the death of its employees. Chandan Karki, information officer of the bank, claimed that he did not know anything about the incident.
