CPN accuses PM of violating constitution and regulations

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of violating the Constitution and the House of Representatives Regulations. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, NCP lawmaker Yubaraj Dulal said that the government has not followed the constitutional provision that the Prime Minister should be accountable to the Parliament.

He reminded that Clause 561 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2089 BS has the provision of allowing lawmakers to ask direct questions to the Prime Minister.

“Once again, I would like to inform the parliament about the violation of the constitution and regulations of this country,” he said. According to the House of Representatives Regulations 2089, 561 of the House of Representatives members can ask questions to the Prime Minister. Under this, groups of 15 people are divided. As per the rules, the questions are given in writing to the Speaker three days in advance and the Prime Minister is asked questions and answer questions for one hour when he is present. ’

Lawmakers have been obstructing the parliament for a long time demanding answers from the Prime Minister.
