Kathmandu. Police have arrested 5 people on the charge of cheating people on the pretext of sending them to different countries for foreign employment. The arrestees have been identified as Lalit Bahadur Tamang, 38, of Ramechhap, of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-4, of Bhaktapur, Santoshi Lama, 34, of Dhading, Ramdas Maharjan, 41, of Chandragiri Municipality-8, and Sarib Giri, 29, of Kathmandu.

A police team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku arrested them after taking Rs 50,000 from one victim on the pretext of sending them to Azerbaijan, Rs 250,000 from one victim in the name of sending Santoshi to Kosovo, Rs 1.5 million from one victim in the name of sending Santoshi to Spain, Rs 4.5 million from seven victims and Rs 2 million from one victim in the name of sending Sarib to Canada ।

Police arrested Lalit Bahadur from Kathmandu metropolis-12, Santoshi from Kathmandu metropolis-15, Ramdas from Kathmandu metropolis-14 on Friday and Sarib from Kathmandu metropolis-15 on Monday.

They have been sent to the Foreign Employment Department, Tahachal, Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
