Kathmandu. Chairman of the Labour and Culture Party and lawmaker Harka Sampang Rai has raised questions in the parliament over the opening of the border by India in the Lipulekh region. In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, he questioned why the government was silent when India was opening the border point in Lipulekh.
“India is opening a border point in Lipulekh. But why is the government silent?” he asked. He accused the Nepal Army of sending the Nepal Army to the squatters instead of guarding the border.
“Was the Nepal Army sent to protect the border or did it continue to bully the squatters? What is the reason for not being able to build the border, not being able to save the border, but not being able to save the country by misusing the army, setting fire to people’s settlements? We need an answer to that. ’
“Today, the country has become guardianless and the government has failed to render millions of landless squatters homeless and make them cry or commit suicide,” he said.
