Kathmandu. An employee of Global IME Bank, Pitambar Khadka, has arrested 4 persons named after he chose to kill 4 senior management of the bank. The arrestees have been identified as CEO Surendra Raj Regmi, Assistant CEO of the bank Deep Chandra Regmi, Deputy CEO Suman Pokharel and HR Chief Anamika Singh.

However, it is understood that discussions are underway on whether to take such a decision only after considering the circumstances that may arise while arresting all the senior employees of the bank or arresting only one person or calling everyone for statement.

Khadka had made public the names and photos of four high-ranking officials through social media and had set a noose on the ceiling accusing them of killing me.

According to the Area Police Office, Damak, Khadka committed suicide by hanging himself with a plastic noose after writing a status on Facebook.

The body has been sent to Damak Hospital for postmortem, police said.

It is claimed that his resignation was accepted on the same day as his suicide. Allegations of constant mental pressure, especially from the HR department, have been widely raised on social media.

Locals’ demand: Investigation into ‘suicide abetment’

Locals and the general public have demanded an impartial investigation into the incident.

Khadka’s name has already been dismissed, so there is a demand for an investigation against the officials concerned under ‘abetment to suicide’.

Police said they are investigating all aspects of the incident.

The Area Police Office, Damak, is also studying social media posts, family statements and documents related to the bank.

Panic and silence inside the bank

After the

incident, bank employees are afraid to speak publicly. It is said that the situation in the organization is tense due to the direct accusation against the management and the possibility of starting a legal process.

This

case has sparked a serious debate on the mental pressures of the workplace, the behavior of employees and corporate responsibilities in Nepal’s banks and financial institutions.
