Kathmandu. A group of young girls of the Genji generation staged a protest against the egg trade and egg smuggling at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Sunday. The demonstration was held from 11:30 am to 12:00 noon with various placards and slogans.
The demonstrators have demanded immediate justice for the victims, immediate arrest of former Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral and legal action against the doctors involved in the illegal act.
They have demanded that the medical licenses of doctors involved in egg smuggling at centers like ‘Hope Fertility’ should be revoked and cases should be initiated.
According to Kiran BK, a youth activist who has been campaigning against egg smuggling for a long time, the demonstration is aimed at trying to get away with criminals by misusing their access and power.
During the demonstration, the demonstrators have accused former Attorney General Sabita Bhandari of abusing her power to withdraw her case after she was appointed as the Attorney General in the Baral government.
BK warned that the agitation would continue until a criminal case was filed against former Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral and the doctors involved in the egg smuggling case.
