Kathmandu. Meter interest victims have started a march from Janakpur to Kathmandu. On Thursday, the meter interest victims from different parts of the country started a march from Tirhutiya Gachhi Maidan of Janakpurdham to Kathmandu.
Before starting the march, they lit a fake torch. They also lit torches to mark the beginning of the march. Before starting the march, Ramesh Century, central president of the Peasants and Workers Movement against microfinance and financial exploitation, said that this time the struggle would be final.
He also complained that Balendra Sah had announced to address the problems of the people affected by the meter interest rate in his address from Janakpurdham before becoming the Prime Minister.
President Century said that although agreement was reached with the government four times, none of the agreements have been implemented effectively.
He expressed his hope that the government would address their demands before launching agitation against the government in Kathmandu. He urged all to participate in the trek to Kathmandu as the meter interest victims are scattered all over the country.
