Home Minister and other ministers visit holding centre

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and other ministers visited the holding centre at Kharipati, Bhaktapur today.

Minister Gurung was accompanied by Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal, Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Sita Badi, Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta and Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav

Minister Rawal said that the government was working in such a way that no one can raise a finger in the coming days after issuing the land ownership certificates after fulfilling the necessary process.

Stating that it would take some time for the management of landless squatters, he said the government was working to provide a lasting solution to the landless squatters. He urged not to politicise anyone in the name of squatters.

According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, they also held discussions with the landless squatters and apprised them of the government’s preparations for immediate and long-term management.

After the inundation of the holding center in Kirtipur, the landless squatters have been shifted to the holding center in Kharibot.
