Harka Yonghang in the campaign of Harka Sampang: ‘Nepal will now be a party of labor culture’

Kathmandu. Vice-Chairman of Labour and Culture Party, Panchthar and campaigner for the preservation of Hilihang Palace, Harka Bahadur Yonghang Limbu, has claimed that Nepal’s politics is entering a new turn.

In an interview with Nepal News Bank, Minister Bhattarai said that the party would not be limited to eastern Nepal and expressed the belief that it would expand to mountain, hills, Terai, Mechi and Kali in the near future. He said, “I think in the near future, there will be a culture of labour everywhere in the mountains, hills, Terai, Mechi, Kali.

Because now is the time and the need of the hour and the Nepali people. Therefore, you should not code only a limited space. Overall, in Nepal’s mountains, hills, Terai, Mechi, Kali, the final truth and fact should also be full of labor culture. According to him, the present need is a political thinking based on labour, indigenous production, indigenous use, nature, culture and technology. He argues that this idea will save the country and make it prosperous.

Yonghang said that corruption, irregularities and political distortions have crossed the limit in the country and there is widespread dissatisfaction among the Nepali citizens.

He claimed that Nepal’s politics would be divided into two streams in the future.

He said, “As an activist or a person associated with the youth circle, I think the Nepali youth are not happy at this time.”

Corruption and irregularities in the country have crossed all limits. Therefore, in the coming days, there will be only two castes and two parties. On the basis of this, the future of the country will be decided. He also said that Nepal’ s economic condition was worrisome and the burden of debt was increasing. Labor, indigenous production, indigenous use and coordination of nature, culture and technology were necessary to make the country debt-free, he said.

‘Nature is our soil and earth. We are born on this soil and come back here. A person who does not love the soil cannot be a true patriot. Because there is tyranny in the country, it is you who save us. Nepali citizens need to be aware. A country is not built by talking nonsense. Reading is not everything, consciousness is important,” he said.

According to him, culture is the basis of identity, respect and existence of Nepalis and there is a need to move ahead by connecting modern technology with it. Yonghang praised his party’s chairman, Hark Sampang, and described the Shramdaan campaign as a positive example of social transformation.

He was of the view that good work should be supported by rising above political prejudices.

He said, “Mr. Harka Sampang has given a positive message to the society through Shramdaan. It is not only for the cadres of any one party, but for the entire Nepali. If a bridge is built, all Nepalis will walk through it, so good work should be seen above political prejudices. Mother Nepal has given birth to a courageous activist like Harka Sampang, albeit belatedly. He has been involved in the campaign for a long time and has been trying to establish a culture of labor. Stating that he has been active in social campaigns for more than two decades, he said he had played a role in research, government budget management and tourism promotion for the preservation and development of Hilihang Palace. He said he joined politics with the intention of correcting the anomalies on the basis of that experience.

‘I have been active in social campaigns for about 22-25 years. I also played a role in researching the Hilihang Palace and bringing budget from the Government of Nepal for its preservation and development. Work was done to make the palace area a center of tourism. But after closely observing the anomalies and weaknesses seen in the course of development, I came to the conclusion that politics is the effective means of reform. That’s why I left Kathmandu a year ago and joined active politics through the Labour and Culture Party,” he said.

Stressing on the need to rise above personal and family interest and work for the welfare of the nation, he stressed the need for making Nepal a self-reliant nation based on tourism, production and labour.

He said, “We should rise above personal, familial and ethnic interests and engage in the campaign to build and save Nepal.” We will stay only if Nepal stays. At present, the biggest basis for making the country self-reliant is indigenous labor, indigenous production and indigenous use. If it is linked with tourism, nature, culture and technology, the country’s economy will be strengthened and Nepal will move towards prosperity. “

Not only politics, social campaigns, but also literary creation, Yonghang also expressed his views on his literary journey.

Stating that literature is a reflection of experience, emotion, spiritual practice and time, he said that the experience of a writer born in a palace and a hut is different.

According to him, literature has the power to change, break or reform the society.

He said that literature is a world of imagination but history should be based on facts and evidence.

He argued that many confusions have been created as Nepal’s history was written outside the facts.

He said that although the lyrics of the song may seem superficial about love, they contain deep feelings of society, human relationships and life.

He stressed that literature should not only entertain but also give a message to the society.
