. Applications have been invited for the post of Chairman of the Advertising Board.
The Ministry of Information and Communications has issued a public notice today (
Wednesday) inviting applications from eligible candidates. The deadline to apply is July 8.
Detailed information including minimum qualifications, application form and required documents to be attached with the application is available on the website of the Ministry of Communications.
All advertisements related to public interest provided by the Government of Nepal to the media are distributed proportionately through the Advertisement Board on the prescribed basis. The Advertising Board regulates the advertisement and business carried out for the promotion or sale, distribution of goods or services or for the promotion of such goods or services.
The Advertisement Board is also mandated to formulate a national policy on advertisement and recommend it to the Ministry, prepare standards on the basis prescribed for testing the content of advertisements to be broadcasted in the media, formulate a code of conduct related to the production, broadcasting and distribution of advertisements, and encourage the publication and dissemination of advertisements related to national interest and public interest as per the need of the country. It also includes recommending to the Ministry to run necessary programs for the capacity and capacity development of the advertising business and entrepreneurs, conducting and organizing programs related to consumer awareness, rewarding those who have done excellent work in the field of advertising and giving necessary directives to the advertising producers, producers, distributors or broadcasters.
