Putin assures Iran of doing everything possible to end the war

Russian President Vladimir Putin has assured that he will do everything possible to end the war against Iran. He also condemned the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities and called war against Iran unjust.

Rezaei said the Russian president had promised to do everything in his power to end the war, following his meeting with Putin in the Kremlin.

According to Iran’s state media Press TV, Putin also criticized the bombing of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

Rezaei said that regional developments, post-war situation and regional security arrangements were also discussed during the meeting. He said that he had conveyed the message of the Supreme Leader of Iran to Putin and that Putin had also sent warm greetings to the Supreme Leader.

Energy cooperation between Russia and Iran was also discussed. Rezaei said that the two sides discussed the construction of a natural gas pipeline from Russia to Iran. He said that if the pipeline is built, Iran will be able to manage its internal gas shortage and sell Russian gas to neighboring countries.

Putin and Rezaei, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met at the Kremlin palace in Moscow on Thursday. Iran’s state television SNN reported the meeting, citing Russian news agency Interfax.

Meanwhile, Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who is also the chief negotiator of the US-Iran talks, has criticized the US leadership. Writing on social media X, he accused Washington of adopting an aggressive policy and prioritizing Israel’s interests.

Ghalibaf said the US was heading towards a further crisis if the US leadership stood up for Israel.

The meeting between Putin and Rezaei comes as Moscow and Tehran continue to hold diplomatic talks on security, energy cooperation and post-war regional order. ANI
