Dhangadhi. Although the attraction of the citizens towards the Ayurvedic medical system is increasing, there is a problem in service delivery due to the lack of manpower management according to it.

A 50-bed Ayurveda hospital has been established in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-13 of Kailali since September 2079. The hospital was started before the country went to federalism and was handed over to the provincial government after the implementation of the federal system.

But even after four years of the operation of the hospital, only one Ayurveda doctor of the eighth level has been created in the hospital. The hospital established with a comprehensive plan to operate surgical services through the Ayurveda system has not been implemented due to lack of sufficient manpower.

Prakash Kalauni, officiating director of the Ayurveda Hospital, said that although the attraction of the citizens is increasing, it is difficult to provide service due to lack of manpower.

“A big target was set when it was established,” Kalauni said, “But there is a problem due to the lack of manpower management according to it. The manpower cannot serve such a large population of Kailali.” “

The hospital needs at least five specialist Ayurveda doctors to run specialist services as per the objective, says Kalauni. At present, the state government has deployed some health workers in the hospital on contract service, but it is difficult to expand the expected services due to lack of permanent posts.
